Ramses 2

The outline is based on the person Ramses 2 what he did during his life, like his accomplishments, obstacles, and some facts on the early years of his life. The facts in this outline are from the book Ramses 2 Egyptian Pharaoh, Warrior, and Builder. Some opinions will be stated in this outline and will be labeled accordingly. For a fact I know that he had a long life and was rich indeed.

Ramses 1st had a wife that gave birth to Ramses the 2nd in year 1292 B.C. He was the king’s second and eldest living son so he is obviously first in line for the throne. His training was started very early on in his life to teach him to fight and to rule to the best of his ability. Most of his time was spent with his father as his training progressed. Ramses 2 father was the friend of the previous Pharaoh who had no sons to rule after his death. Ramses 1 being the Pharaoh’s right hand man was to take the throne. Otherwise Ramses 2 would have never taken the throne.

During Ramses 2 life there are a few things that we will briefly focus on in this paragraph. Thanks to newly discovered military advances he was more able to be successful in battle. Because of his father at age 10 he was a captain of his own army. In this 19th dynasty he was able to make the first peace treaty in the history of the Egyptians. Thanks to this man he led to Egyptians to the climax of their empire.

There were quite a few things that I learned while reviewing this man’s history. The very first thing to catch my eye was the fact that a long life back then for this man was only 67 years. I also found it odd that the pharaoh before Ramses the first never had any children. Yet it seems as though that Ramses the second had more than 50 children of his own. Also I now know that back in that time they were allowed to have more than 1 wife which makes me wonder if love was ever involved in marriage.

The previous paragraph shows how much culture and religion has change over the centuries. Now the average life expectance is more than 80 thanks to medical advances. Marriage at least in the U.S. involves love and you are pretty much expected to have only one wife. Now in china it is illegal to have more than one child and often the female child is killed so they can have another chance to get a boy. It’s kind of funny really how it was good back then to have concubines and now it is considered cheating.
